Planning to travel to more then one city or stopover over during your trip?

Often when you fly somewhere and stop in a city, you have the option of adding a longer stay at minimal or no extra cost. The best part of a stopover is that you can explore another city for a short period of time and get an idea of what it has to offer.

Here is a list of our favourite stopover cities!

Hong Kong

Enormous glittering skyscrapers. A dazzlingly diverse food scene. Lively local markets. Beautiful green hiking trails just outside the city. Hong Kong has a lot to explore on a stopover. Plus, the Airport Express Link will transfer you from the airport to the city centre in only 24 minutes.

This charming and historic Dutch city is ideal for a quick stopover – the centre of the city is only a quick 17 minutes away from welcoming and modern Schiphol Airport. You can rent a bike and pedal around the city, visiting the Van Gogh museum and Anne Frank house and perhaps indulging in some coffee and cake in a cafe. (Be aware – certain cafes in Amsterdam offer more than just cake!)

Singapore is in a great location between Southeast Asia and Australia, making it a very popular stopover destination. It’s modern, clean and packed with fun things to do – from the Singapore Zoo to the dramatic sculptures of the Gardens By The Bay. When you get hungry from all of the exploring, visit the Maxwell Road Food Center – a collection of hawker stalls that will make you feel like you are in street food heaven.

Barcelona is a popular stopover for flights in Europe and it’s a magnificent city. Although the lines are long for the main attractions such as the Sagrada Familia and the Picasso Museum, you can buy your tickets online to save time. Also, be sure to check out the sights, sounds and smells of the famous Santa Caterina Market.
